Eli Lilly's experimental drug retatrutide lowered blood sugar more than Novo Nordisk's Ozempic at its highest approved dose and produced more than twice the weight loss in a head-to-head trial of adults with type 2 diabetes, the company announced October 28. The results also showed a trade-off: more people on retatrutide stopped treatment because of side effects.
