- 01Researchers screened 20,006,989 FAERS reports through Jan. 27, 2026, finding eight signals across semaglutide, liraglutide and tirzepatide; muscle atrophy led with ROR 3.96 for semaglutide and 2.29 for tirzepatide.
- 02Lower-magnitude signals included back pain, muscle spasms and neck pain for semaglutide, and back pain, osteoarthritis and neck pain for liraglutide, relevant to clinicians monitoring lean-mass loss.
- 03The authors state the data cannot show causation or incidence among treated patients; spontaneous reporting is subject to bias and prospective studies are needed.
