The wire

  1. 01Among more than 2,300 women with overweight or obesity in the 68-week REDEFINE 1 trial, estimated average weight loss on CagriSema was 25%, versus 19% for semaglutide, 13% for cagrilintide and 3% for placebo.
  2. 02Estimated loss was about 27% premenopausal, 25% perimenopausal and 23% postmenopausal, with waist reductions, but the analysis does not show the drug addresses menopausal hormonal change.
  3. 03About 80% on CagriSema reported digestive side effects versus 40% on placebo, nausea 55%, and roughly 6% discontinued; the Novo Nordisk-sponsored analysis was post hoc and unpublished.
