The wire
- 01The placebo-controlled HISTORI trial tested semaglutide 1.0 mg weekly for 30 weeks on insulin sensitivity and beta-cell function in patients with schizophrenia, prediabetes and obesity.
- 02Antipsychotic-associated metabolic disease is a population clinicians struggle to treat, and randomized incretin data in this group has been scarce.
- 03Full effect sizes, tolerability and psychiatric outcomes are in the published paper; the trial ran 30 weeks, so durability beyond that is untested.
