01In 16 people with type 2 diabetes on semaglutide up to 2.0 mg weekly for six months, CD16+ monocytes fell 18.8% (P=.034), HbA1c dropped 21.1 mmol/mol and weight fell 6.7 kg.
02The European Heart Journal authors propose a bone marrow-driven anti-inflammatory mechanism that could help explain GLP-1 cardiovascular benefit beyond glucose and weight.
03The study enrolled 16 participants with marrow aspirates in 14, had no control arm, and showed no reduction in coronary artery macrophage uptake.
