The wire
- 01The multicenter retrospective ESTATE study followed 88 Japanese adults with type 2 diabetes on an average 4.5 mg weekly tirzepatide dose for 24 weeks; HbA1c fell 1.5% and BMI 1.5 kg/m2, both p<0.001.
- 02Albumin rose while ALT and LDL cholesterol fell, and higher baseline HbA1c predicted greater reduction, relevant to clinicians using sub-maximal doses.
- 03Authors note causal inference is limited by the single-arm observational design and absence of a control group; patient-reported outcome analyses were exploratory.
