The wire
- 01Interrupted time-series analysis of Danish nationwide registers covering 1996 to 2023 found statistically significant reductions in HbA1c, LDL and triglycerides after GLP-1 receptor agonist initiation in 3,042 people with schizophrenia.
- 02The findings suggest trial-level metabolic benefits extend to routine care in a population with high antipsychotic-related metabolic burden.
- 03The design is observational with no control group, so secular trends, concurrent medication changes and adherence cannot be ruled out as contributors.
