The wire
- 01In an observational study of 8,127 women initiating GLP-1 therapy, 99.8% on tirzepatide, mean weight fell 16.1 kg or 15.5% of baseline; 83.1% lost at least 10% and 22.4% at least 20%.
- 02HbA1c fell 3.3 mmol/mol on average, normalizing in 84.5% of those with diabetes-range values and 96.3% with prediabetes, with total cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides also down.
- 03Authors note the design is observational with no comparator, a self-pay population and only six months of follow-up, limiting generalizability to other care models.
