The wire
- 01In TRIUMPH-2, 1,152 adults with obesity and type 2 diabetes on the highest retatrutide dose lost an average 18.8% of body weight, about 20.7 kg, over 80 weeks versus 5.1% on placebo.
- 02Semaglutide and tirzepatide rarely average more than 15% weight loss in type 2 diabetes, so the once-weekly triple agonist would sit above current options if approved.
- 03Participants starting at BMI 35 or higher lost 21.9% on the 12 mg dose; full safety, tolerability and cardiometabolic endpoint detail and regulatory timing remain to be seen.
