The wire
- 01Retrospective TriNetX study of imaging from 2020 to 2025 matched 6,995 CE-CT pairs and 3,285 CTA pairs; AKI within three days occurred in 3.8% of GLP-1 users versus 4.5% after CE-CT.
- 02For CTA the rate was 4.5% versus 6.1%, odds ratio 0.74, a signal clinicians may weigh when scheduling contrast imaging in diabetic patients with chronic kidney disease.
- 03Authors note HbA1c remained imbalanced after matching, eGFR-stratified results were inconsistent, and prospective studies using creatinine-based outcomes are needed.
