The wire
- 01Diet-induced obese male C57BL/6 mice got semaglutide 60 nmol/kg intraperitoneally every three days for three weeks, then drug withdrawal on continued high-fat diet, reported in Endocrinology and Metabolism.
- 02Treatment cut pro-inflammatory macrophages, crown-like structures and inflammatory gene expression in visceral fat, with subcutaneous fat minimally affected; all reverted after stopping.
- 03This is a rodent weight-cycling model, not human data, and does not establish what happens to patients who discontinue semaglutide.
