The wire
- 01Two 52-week placebo-controlled phase 3 trials enrolled 469 adults with obesity and an apnea-hypopnea index of at least 15 events per hour, with and without positive airway pressure.
- 02Tirzepatide reduced AHI by an estimated 20.0 and 23.8 events per hour versus placebo, alongside drops in hypoxic burden, weight, systolic blood pressure and hs-CRP.
- 03This is a narrative review for cardiologists, not new data; cardiovascular event outcomes with tirzepatide in sleep apnea remain unestablished.
