The wire
- 01In a post hoc, single-arm analysis of the SCHOLAR study, 11,361 participants (42.3%) on once-weekly semaglutide also received an SGLT2 inhibitor; mean HbA1c fell 0.64 percentage points at month 6.
- 02Patients on continuous semaglutide with baseline HbA1c at or above 7% saw a 1.20-point drop, with significant improvements in total cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides and HDL.
- 03The analysis is single-arm and post hoc with no comparator, so causal attribution is limited; gastrointestinal adverse events were the most frequent.
