The wire
- 01In a questionnaire of 52 adults recruited from outpatient clinics between November 2024 and April 2025, 98% had heard of GLP-1 receptor agonists, and 88% linked them to obesity and 75% to diabetes.
- 02Reported side-effect awareness centered on nausea and vomiting (71%), diarrhea (49%) and constipation (47%), pointing to gaps clinicians and pharmacists can fill in counseling and decision support.
- 03Exploratory household analyses covered only 12 users, and expectations of weight loss and mechanism understanding varied widely; the authors call for larger, more robust studies.
