The wire

  1. 01Autoimmune thyroiditis was newly recorded in 524 GLP-1 receptor agonist initiators (0.49%) versus 417 DPP-4 inhibitor initiators (0.39%), giving a hazard ratio of 1.26 (95% CI 1.11-1.43) over up to four years.
  2. 02Modestly higher risks also appeared for nontoxic uninodular (HR 1.07) and multinodular goiter (HR 1.11), which may inform thyroid monitoring conversations in type 2 diabetes.
  3. 03Absolute differences were small and the authors cite possible residual confounding and surveillance bias; thyroid malignancy risk was not elevated (HR 0.93) and findings need validation.
