The wire
- 01Systematic review of 34 studies covering 15,656 adults with type 2 diabetes found patients prioritised glycaemic efficacy, cardiovascular risk reduction and simple dosing when choosing treatments.
- 02Weight loss was valued but usually secondary, a point prescribers and telehealth operators may weigh when framing GLP-1 and tirzepatide conversations with diabetes patients.
- 03Certainty of evidence was low or very low throughout, only one study assessed tirzepatide, which was favoured over semaglutide, and no study evaluated finerenone.
