The wire
- 01In a retrospective review of 159 registry patients with HFpEF and obesity, semaglutide was discussed or offered to 148 (93.1%), but newly recorded in only 23 of 148 baseline nonusers (15.5%).
- 02Recorded diabetes or prediabetes was associated with later use (adjusted odds ratio 3.76, 95% CI 1.08-19.93), suggesting coverage and comorbidity status drive who actually starts therapy.
- 03Authors say the data identify a care gap without establishing causes or verifying initiation; a sensitivity analysis using glycated haemoglobin was inconclusive and the sample is small.
