The wire

  1. 01In claims data from January 2023 to December 2025, adherence (proportion of days covered above 0.8) fell from 56.85% at three months to 38.16% at six months, and to 25.26% in the 12-month subgroup.
  2. 02Trajectory modeling found five patterns, with roughly 10% rapid discontinuers; 2023 initiation, younger age, Black race, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular comorbidity tracked with worse adherence, while managed care enrollment was protective.
  3. 03The cohort was 92.5% female and drawn from one state Medicaid program, so findings may not generalize; claims data cannot explain why members stopped therapy.
